100 Years bandcamp

This is my first album review for this blog after stopping for a longest time ever, so please excuse me for any mistakes and give me your comments (constructive), Thank You!

I have always loved swedish bands and music, especially metal and indie when i started exploring them in the 90s. Swedish metal bands I loved at that time are Nihilist, DT,Entombed Desultory ATG, Dismember In Flames Hypocrisy,Merciless Unleashed Eucharist Damnation to name a few.. Of course there are even more metal bands that came out of sweden after that...

It was really awesome writing letters to them and tape/demo trade and getting their replies and sometimes free stuffs from them. I even wrote to bands/zine or labels like Merciless(Rogga), At The Gates, Putrefaction(swe),Wrong Again Records,W.A.R etc etc.. and the thing is that, these bands are really friendly at that time...Well, it is not easy to contact them except writing letters before internet and emails came about.

Now back to this review...

100 Years is a swedish band that comprises of Roger Petersson (ex vocals Merciless, Satureye) Pontus Andersson (ex Dia Psalma, Snakestorm) Henrik and Magnus Borg and this is a great and enjoyable release i must say. All the members have a long career in previous bands and it is really a great mix of ideas. It is an album of metal, post, rock, experimental, sludge, not exactly lengthy, catchy, somehow familiar, not exactly what you have not heard before, but again there is a certain freshness and style and definitely a substantial cool release for an album from these guys!

Looking forward to more albums and fresh ideas from them! Check them out here https://100-years.bandcamp.com/

Worth a try! Ratings: 3.5/5
